How to use the library

Library card

LUT Stu­dents use stu­dents cards as their library cards with a stu­dent card num­ber as a user­name in an online cata­lo­gue.
Library users who are not LUT stu­dents open the library acco­unt at Cir­cu­la­tion Desk (room 308, Cen­tre of Scien­ti­fic and Tech­ni­cal Infor­ma­tion).
Users out of LUT can open a library acco­unt and leave a depo­sit of 200 PLN. The depo­sit is retur­ned when a user deci­des to close the library acco­unt.

If you want to order a library mate­rial:

– search for the item in the com­pu­ter cata­lo­gue
– check if it is able to be bor­ro­wed,
– check the deta­ils of the library mate­rial loca­tion,
– click the ’Requ­est’ but­ton,
– you will need to enter a login[a student card number - six figures] and a pas­sword,
– and then con­ti­nue by clic­king ’Con­firm’ but­ton and then: ’Send the requ­est’ but­ton,
– up to total of 3 books can be bor­ro­wed by a regi­ste­red user at one time,
– books are held for col­lection for up to five days.
You are respon­si­ble for retur­ning a bor­ro­wed item by the due date.
You can also renew your loan: long term loan items must be rene­wed or retur­ned after one month.

Rese­rva­tions:

If there are no copies ava­ila­ble then ple­ase use the ’Rezer­wuj’ but­ton. You will rece­ive an e-mail when the book is ready to be col­lected from the rese­rva­tion she­lves. Your rese­rva­tion needs to be col­lected within 5 wor­king days. After this date the book will either be pas­sed on to the next custo­mer in the queue, or re-she­lved. If you are not able to col­lect during this time ple­ase con­tact the Library.

E-mail address:

Keep track of your due dates and renew your loans before they are over­due by acces­sing your per­so­nal pol­lub.edu.pl or pol­lub.pl domain e-mail address. The Library will send you a cour­tesy e-mail before books are due. Ple­ase moni­tor over­due and recall e-mail noti­ces to avoid fines.

Using online reso­ur­ces:

LUT Library offers access to online reso­ur­ces- data­ba­ses. You can access them from any LUT domain com­pu­ter and out of cam­pus by set­ting up your search engine with a proxy server. Access to licen­sed reso­ur­ces is limi­ted and una­va­ila­ble to users out­side LUT.
