Access to databases out of LUT campus
LUT library gives access to licensed databases and online journals to computers out of campus network.
In order to use databases from home, you need to set up proxy server in your browser and enter your library account data to log in.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the Mozilla Firefox web browser.
- Go to the Firefox menu and choose Options.
- Select the Advanced icon.
- Choose the Network tab.
- In Connection Settings, choose „Auto-detect proxy configuration for this network. „Then enter your proxy address: http://proxy.pollub.pl/proxy.pac
- You can also choose „Use system proxy settings” within Connection Settings. If you do that, Firefox will use the proxy settings of your operating system.
- Hit OK, which saves your settings.
- Open the database website.
- Use your library account data (username and password) to access the database.
Google Chrome
- Open the Google Chrome web browser.
- Go to Chrome menu and choose Settings.
- Choose „Show advanced settings…”
- Scroll to System and select „Open your computer’s proxy settings. „
- Refer back to the instructions for your operating system (Windows or macOS) and put in the settings for your proxy server. Enter your proxy address http://proxy.pollub.pl/proxy.pac
- Open the database website.
- Use your library account data (username and passoword) to access the database.
Opera
- Open the Opera browser,
- Select Settings and click the Preferences…menu.
- Click at the Advance tab.
- Under the Advance, select the Network on the left pane.
- Click the Proxy Servers… button.
- Select Use manual proxy configuration option.
- Select HTTP check box.
- In the Proxy Server box, type the IP address or Hostname of the proxy server: http://proxy.pollub.pl/proxy.pac
- In the Port box, type the port number that is used by the proxy server for client connections.
- Click OK to close the Proxy servers dialog box.
- Open the database website.
- Use your library account data (username and passoword) to access the database.
Microsoft Edge
- Open the Microsoft Edge browser.
- Go to Settings.
- Click View advanced settings.
- Click Open proxy settings.
- Click the switch beneath Use a proxy server to turn it on.
- Click the Address field.
- Type the IP address of the proxy server you’re using, which should be provided to you by the proxy service: http://proxy.pollub.pl/proxy.pac
- Click the Port field.
- Type the port number. Again, this number should be provided to you by the proxy service.
- Click Save.
- Open the database website
- Use your library account data (username and password) to access the database.
