Access to databases out of LUT campus

LUT library gives access to licensed databases and online journals to computers out of campus network.

In order to use databases from home, you need to set up proxy server in your browser and enter your library account data to log in.

firefox.png Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open the Mozilla Fire­fox web brow­ser.
  2. Go to the Fire­fox menu and cho­ose Options.
  3. Select the Advan­ced icon.
  4. Cho­ose the Network tab.
  5. In Con­nec­tion Set­tings, cho­ose „Auto-detect proxy con­fi­gu­ra­tion for this network. „Then enter your proxy address: http://proxy.pol­lub.pl/proxy.pac
  6. You can also cho­ose „Use sys­tem proxy set­tings” within Con­nec­tion Set­tings. If you do that, Fire­fox will use the proxy set­tings of your ope­ra­ting sys­tem.
  7. Hit OK, which saves your set­tings.
  8. Open the data­base website.
  9. Use your library acco­unt data (user­name and pas­sword) to access the data­base.

chrome.pngGoogle Chrome

  1. Open the Google Chrome web brow­ser.
  2. Go to Chrome menu and cho­ose Set­tings.
  3. Cho­ose „Show advan­ced set­tings…”
  4. Scroll to System and select „Open your com­pu­te­r’s proxy set­tings. „
  5. Refer back to the instruc­tions for your ope­ra­ting sys­tem (Win­dows or macOS) and put in the set­tings for your proxy server. Enter your proxy address  http://proxy.pol­lub.pl/proxy.pac
  6. Open the data­base website.
  7. Use your library acco­unt data (user­name and pas­so­word) to access the data­base.

  1. Open the Opera brow­ser,
  2. Select Set­tings and click the Pre­fe­ren­ces…menu.
  3. Click at the Advance tab.
  4. Under the Advance, select the Network on the left pane.
  5. Click the Proxy Servers… but­ton.
  6. Select Use manual proxy con­fi­gu­ra­tion option.
  7. Select HTTP check box.
  8. In the Proxy Server box, type the IP address or Host­name of the proxy server: http://proxy.pol­lub.pl/proxy.pac
  9. In the Port box, type the port num­ber that is used by the proxy server for client con­nec­tions.
  10. Click OK to close the Proxy servers dia­log box.
  11. Open the data­base website.
  12. Use your library acco­unt data (user­name and pas­so­word) to access the data­base.

  1. Open the Micro­soft Edge brow­ser.
  2. Go to Set­tings.
  3. Click View advan­ced set­tings.
  4. Click Open proxy set­tings.
  5. Click the switch bene­ath Use a proxy server to turn it on.
  6. Click the Address field.
  7. Type the IP address of the proxy server you’re using, which sho­uld be pro­vi­ded to you by the proxy service: http://proxy.pol­lub.pl/proxy.pac
  8. Click the Port field.
  9. Type the port num­ber. Again, this num­ber sho­uld be pro­vi­ded to you by the proxy service.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Open the data­base website
  12. Use your library acco­unt data (user­name and pas­sword) to access the data­base.
