PATent LIBrary
The Patent Information Centre of Lublin University of Technology is a member of the Patent Information Centres Network.
The national network associates 27 entities providing services in the field of patent ownership.
The European network consists of over 300 Patent Information Centres distributed regionally in the member states of the European Patent Office, referred to as "PATLIB centers". Not all PATLIB centers are associated with libraries.
The centers provide local access to patent information and related issues. They are familiar with the local industrial, economic, and business landscape and provide valuable services to university employees and students, small and medium-sized businesses, and private inventors.
Patent information is the knowledge contained in documents published by the patent offices of countries around the world, where those countries have such an institution, and regional and international patent offices. These include application documents and solutions for which exclusive rights have been granted. Scientific literature containing patent information includes documentation of technical knowledge in numerous articles of scientific journals and compact publications, in electronic and printed form. Patent information is also presented in all other publications on industrial property, e.g.: normative acts concerning intellectual property, classifications, rulings of judicial bodies, scientific and methodical papers, commentaries, guides of informative character, etc. Many of these documents are available in online databases. It provides information of technical, legal and business nature. Most solutions are disclosed only in patent literature.
Many center staff are experienced patent search experts. They may also offer other patent information services such as:
