The project was conducted at the 18th Lublin Science Picnic. For the youngest participants, we prepared numerous activities to develop creative thinking. Children had the opportunity to make their own badge with their drawing and design a bookmark. Participants could also take a commemorative photo in the library’s Instagram frame.

Participants became acquainted with the genealogist’s workshop, learning how to build their own family tree, what sources and search methods to use, and how to avoid mistakes when researching their ancestors.

The project introduced children to the basics of working with metadata and data using the playful learning method, including awareness of the benefits of a methodical approach, organization, and data management, demonstrated through LEGO block constructions.

Participants took part in a game with escape room elements. Their tasks included solving puzzles and quizzes and finding clues hidden in the Library.

During the activities, participants learned what inventions are, explored interesting examples of discoveries, saw how inventions looked right after creation and introduction to common use, and imagined how they will look and be used in the future. They also learned about the world’s strangest current inventions and their applications. At the end, participants built a model of a future garden and created a cup-and-string phone.

The aim of the project is to build openness and understanding of cultural diversity, promote tolerance and respect for differences through various types of interactive activities with the participants of the meeting. The project is aimed at school-aged youth.

An educational workshop combined with a lecture, during which participants learned about the history and types of writing, and tried various tools and techniques used over the centuries.

During a multimedia presentation, participants learned the meaning of signs and infographics found in forests and parks.
