Be aware - coronavirus! A fairy tale about signs and infographics during the pandemic of COVID-19

The project is aimed at children and was entirely prepared in English. It was produced in the form of a storybook-style recording to engage the youngest audience. Its goal is to introduce and explain the meaning of symbols and infographics related to the pandemic.

The project was carried out at the Science Picnic. Activities included a presentation of the Lublin University of Technology Library’s publishing offer, goose-feather calligraphy workshops, commemorative stamps, typewriter writing, and string painting (pull-string technique).

Attention Please! How to Navigate a World Full of Symbols and Infographics

Through a multimedia presentation, group discussions, and collaborative work, students learned and reinforced the meaning of selected symbols and infographics. Additionally, at the end of the session, participants took part in a competition—an online Kahoot! quiz.

Costume Design Workshops

During the workshops, participants explored the various stages of creating theatrical costumes, from concept to final realization. In small groups, they designed and crafted costumes on mannequins using second-hand materials, fabric scraps, and other recycled materials. They also learned different techniques for manipulating fabric and discovered the key differences between fashion design and costume design.

Workshops in which participants learned about fashion/journal illustration, its history, diversity, and the most notable artists. In the second, practical part of the session, participants explored techniques for creating fashion illustrations and had the opportunity to produce their own work.

Up-to-Date Senior: How to Stay in Constant Contact with Loved Ones

The workshops took place on 23 and 25 September 2015 and were primarily aimed at older adults. The project aimed to introduce seniors to modern social media as an effective way to cope with loneliness and social isolation, as well as a tool for staying in touch with loved ones. During the sessions, participants had the opportunity to learn how to use platforms such as Facebook, Skype, and Gadu-Gadu. The workshop was recognized as the best project for seniors.

Internet Self-Defense

On 16 and 17 September 2015, the project was presented to middle school students. The presentation aimed to familiarize participants with online threats and ways to avoid them. Using real-life incidents as examples, the facilitators explained the mechanisms behind some of these risks.

Modern Technologies as an Opportunity for People with Disabilities

The demonstration showcased modern technologies that enable visually impaired and blind individuals to use computers. Devices for people with hearing impairments were also presented, including a video telephone and an online sign language interpreter.
