Online training: Open Access and academic authorship – practical tips for researchers

The Centre for Scientific and Technical Information at the Lublin University of Technology invites you to take part in an international online training session entitled “IEEE Authorship and Open Access Symposium: Tips and Best Practices to Get Published”, organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – one of the most prestigious scientific and technical organisations in the world.

The event provides an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge of contemporary publishing standards and best practices related to the preparation and publication of research results.

Topics covered

During the session, participants will learn about, amongst other things:

• key principles of publishing under the Open Access model;
• guidelines on the use of AI-generated texts;
• issues relating to copyright and licences;
• principles of correct attribution of authorship and avoiding misconduct;
• best practices for increasing the visibility and citability of publications;
• guidance on selecting the appropriate academic journal.

The training is practically oriented and addresses current challenges in scientific communication.

Facilitators

The training will be led by editors of scientific journals affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), who have experience in working with authors and in the process of publishing scientific articles. They will share practical tips on preparing a manuscript and successfully publishing in reputable journals.
